I knew from the beginning of wedding planning that I didn’t want my bridesmaids to look like clones of each other with identical dresses, shoes, hair and jewelry. My five girls are totally different in height, body type, ethnicity and personal style (not to mention personality!) and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Being that J.Crew is my favorite store, I’ve known since we got engaged that I would probably choose a color and a fabric from their line and then let the ladies choose the style of dress. I love the idea of different shades of one color (i.e. ranging from powder blue to french blue to navy), but the Mr. hates that idea - he’s more of a color block, clean-aesthetic kind of guy.
Right now I’m thinking a nice springy silk chiffon in “vintage blue” or “hazel blue”, but I’ll have to wait until all of my bridesmaids can get to the J.Crew Wedding Collection store that’s outside the city and try them on!
